Spirit Path

Spirit Path

Stocking feet on dry leaves,
Step soft on damp ground.
Breathy sobs; empty heaves,
Silent shroud of fog.

A winding path I cannot see,
Guided by a shimmer,
a touch,
a voice.

Beckoned to crush
Another leaf beneath my trembling heel.
